Fir Tree Community Garden is situated within the Stoke Ward within the town of Guildford. Its main use is as an open space which has been used by the local community as a community garden following a campaign to increase local involvement in its use. It contains a MUGA and areas of floral meadow for biodiversity. This is therefore a very important open space for the local community. The Local authority has full legal and beneficial title and ownership to and the property is free from all third party rights. Planning officers have been consulted and have indicated that there no planning issues which would make the site ineligible for inclusion in the challenge. There is scope for improvement as there are unused areas of lawn which would lend themselves to the creation of facilities such as an outdoor gymnasium or play area. Access is fully available to the public at all times from Fir Tree Road.
